The course is always in good shape. Shorter but challenging. The back 9 is very wooded, scenic and unique. The price is fair. My issue deals with the service and overall golf experience. My family and I love playing the back 9 and we have been able to jump over to the back in years past if we asked. Our first time playing this week we were told we couldnt go on the back 9 (it was too early) but they allowed another group just before us to. We were told to call ahead next time. Which we did. Seemed off, but we understood. Grumpy ranger followed us for a whole hole. Not saying anything and didnt bother to give us a wave or how are you doing? Or how do you like the course etc. We werent slowing play down or being disruptive. This time we called ahead and asked if we could start on the back nine. They said no. My brothers went in the clubhouse to see if we could do the back. They were met with rudeness and were told we couldnt because they were doing maintenance and mowing on the back 9. Oddly enough our last 6 holes were disrupted by mowers. Most acted like we were an inconvenience. As we left the course there were two groups finishing the back 9. It is just frustrating by the inconsistency. Dont tell us you cant accommodate and its an impossibility when you do so for others.

The most beautiful course, flower beds and plantings amazing! Dozen long stem red roses in ladies room. Staff great! Highly recommend this jewel of the Northwoods!

Love this course. Short, but challenging. Back nine is mostly tight. You have to think to score.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our round at Eagle River Golf Course. We walked the back nine and found it to be very well maintained, fairways and tees in very good shape, scenery was a wonderful surprise for a public course, and of course the people in the clubhouse were very professional and helpful. We will be back for sure.
