This is the former property, once called 'Stone Acres', of my great-grandparents William and Eulalia Newberry, on my mother's side. The Newberry name is mainly associated with the J.J.Newberry Company - a five and dime retailer in competition with Frank Woolworth - the F.W. Woolworth Company - ('J. J.' standing for John Josiah). The estate was broken up in the late 1960s. The pick-up truck is now in Olympia, WA and still runs, and the greenhouse was re-assembled and is on my parents' former property in Germantown, NY.
