I arrived for a 6:40 Tee Time. Upon arrival I was told they do not give out driving carts past 6:30 (was not informed this on the phone, as I would have just went somewhere else) I spoke with the Owner? Bill? ED? No idea, but he said he would 'do me a favor' and let me play with the cart. I was happy and thanked him. The course was busy from an earlier tournament, and many walkers. After 4 holes I was caught up with everyone, even stuck behind groups of 8?! All of which is fine. On the 8th hole a walker behind me CAUGHT UP with how slow everything was. We played the last 2 holes together and had a good time. While waiting again, for groups of 8 and 2, I decided to take a nice photo of the sunset. After the last hole, myself AND THE WALKER finished same time, the owner then begins to yell saying he had to wait an hour for me, telling me to speed it up as I put my clubs away. Have never seen this kind of behavior from an OWNER?!?! I Never post reviews, other than positive ones usually sense I know how important they can be. This was the rudest I've ever been treated, for a problem he caused?!?! (Either say on the phone no carts, or dont schedule groups of 8) absolutely crazy. He will never get my business again, which he happily said was fine lol. Just crazy. This is my second bad experience here. Another time I was waiting behind a group (again. Bad tee time management) and took a million practice swings, waiting, so I wouldn't get cold. He drove up and started screaming saying I was hitting a bunch of balls on the green?! This guy is crazy. Beautiful course. But the owner is an absolute Jackass. Apparently dont be late, his time is very valuable lol.

Based on the on-line reviews and the fact that I had about 2 1/2 hours to play, I tried this course while visiting friends in nearby Delmar, New York. I couldn't have been more pleased. Because it was late on a Saturday afternoon (4:00PM) the manager/owner encouraged me to 'play until dark, if you want.' So for $12 (the senior rate) I played through the course twice in my allotted time---the greens were in very good condition, the fairways were ok and there is plenty of variety in the layout. There are two legit par 5s and it plays nearly 3.600 yards from the tips! Given the price and the course (from all perspectives), Pheasant Hollow should be on your list for bargain golf in the Capital District. Forget bargain golf, just think a nice course overall!

Today's visit was only to the driving range, but the facility itself, and the balls purchased, were well kept and reasonably priced.

Wonder place to get 9 holes in. Friendly knowledge staff that is very accommodating. They have done a tremendous job bringing this once forgotten course back to life.
