Sugar Loaf is a beautiful golf course with super friendly staff. It's always a pleasure driving off the vist at number 1. The holes are both challenging and fun. I always look forward to playing Sugar Loaf when visiting the Leelanau peninsula.

Beautiful course with a handful of VERY challenging holes, particularly 3 and the plateau green on 17. 18 is ace-able but stay out of that bunker on the front left. The staff was very courteous (I showed up 10 mins late for my tee time ) and are taking serious steps in curbing coronavirus exposure. Would highly recommend this course, as its relatively low green fees mean great value.

We have lived on the course for many years now and they dont seem to care about improving the grounds. This course could be amazing with proper management. Overgrown grass at every tee box, also not sure if they own a weed whip. Seems like a place for retired guys to work at, and seem bored when you arrive. Because its in leelanau county it will survive cause tourist are dumb enough to think its an amazing course. Sad to see where the ski resort landed, but the course is heading down the same path.
