Once called the Wilmington Island Club, this property was recently purchased and given its original name, The Savannah Country Club. The new owner has made many fantastic improvements. The historic Oglethorpe Hotel was once the summer resort for New York and Chicago gangsters in the 20s and 30s. I have attended many events in its grand ballroom and Thursday Sunset parties around the pool. The grounds are kept well and the golf course is challenging and well maintained.
