I moved in May, temporarily, renting from snowbirds. Furnished home. My experience has been beyond my expectations, tranquil living, among shimmering ponds, green golf course, beautiful crane birds, birds of all kinds... the staff is friendly and everything kept up nice. The functions available for residents is constant...there's yoga, exercise in the pool classes. Etc.. I was fortunate enough to have tried it out by renting, now I am going to buy a mobilehome in Spanish Lakes.

Great affordable place to live, there is something that really bothers me personally when I come onto the property there seems to be an endless amount of cheap advertisements staked in the ground Reminding its tenants and visitors what a Wonderful Pl., Spanish Lakes is . It takes away away from what could be a nice entrance it looks not so classy It resembles the old fashion Burma Shavesigns that you find all along the highways some of which are a necessity Most take away from the beauty of the landscape. If you dont know what Burma-Shave is look it up

I too bought a year ago believe the clubhouse looks good but old lady a desk is rude and smelly! Rules are way to strict depends if your a snow bird who is renting or snow bird owners have more rights than full time residents no activity during off Swanson. And here's how they mow the lawn

Out of all the Spanish Lakes the Golf Village is nicest. They must have 20 shuffle board courts in pristine condition with a little hamburger & hot dog hut. Everyone lives in a little circle & my friend's circle has the greatest people. I will take photos next time of the clubs & pools & car washed with vacs.

The worst 55 plus Mobile Park anywhere. They have huge alligators roaming the park yet no signs warning of them. Vandalism is rampant and the management is constantly harassing its residents. The only thing they do for the $500 plus month rent is cut the grass 21 times a year. They maintain the clubhouse for the sole purpose spying and harassing the residents. The Park Manager is a bonafide racist. Youre literally taking your life in your own hands by moving here. I so regret the fact that I did to be close to family.

Great retirement place to live a lot of amenities everybody's kind of friendly. Lots of things to do to keep you busy had many clubs, card games, pool, tennis courts, shuffleboard, bocce, ect... Club parties in doors ie: New England Italian-American to me it's like going to a wedding sitting with people you don't actually know all of them making new friends but there is no bride and groom food music anything more that you want to know just ask I'll do my best to answer

This is a 55 and older manufactured home development that has been well established for many years. It is kept immaculate and the nice thing with the park being a little bit older is that all of the trees and plants are mature and makes it very nice as your driving through the park. The golf course is for homeowners and one guest only and it is a par 3 course. They do not allow golf carts on the golf course so you have to walk the course but it is a beautiful walk that is not too long and you can easily play a round of golf and have a great time. The clubhouse is handicap accessible and they have a multitude of activities for those of us that are starting to have a little bit of Gray. There are maybe 6 pool tables, there is a huge swimming pool and hot tub area out on the deck and they have dances and parties. A lot of the members like to play different card games from poker to any card game that you may want to play. They also have shuffleboard and tennis And during an event there is alcohol available. It is a great place to live and a great place to visit with lots and lots of activities for the guest

This is by far the worst community to live in.People are always in your business. They have no respect for people younger than them . They never want visitors . They even kicked out a mans care taker for not being of age let me remind you this mans a full diabetic who is disabled bed ridden and needs 24 hour care . The man was not a disturbance was barely even there . All this community wants is your money . That's it they are not compassionate to other who pays on time never later . If you have grandkids it's not a good place for them cause the min they stay the night they are on your case of how long they will be there . I wouldn't even give it a star but then again I wouldn't be able to say how awful this community is . Way better off buying a home in a much better community my Opinion.

I have lived here for over a year and no one from the Home Owner Association has contacted and welcome me to the neighborhood. About a year ago a disgruntle neighbor stalked me and spread false rumors about my so-called behavior around the neighborhood and sent some family member thugs on several occasions to harass me then spoke and advised the HOA of it. The women is facing criminal and civil charges for making false statement to Law Enforcement Officers. My attorney is preparing to depose her. The HOA did not bother to hear my side of the story. Curiously I recently started painting my place and a person who identified themselves as a member of the HOA asked the painter questions about the paint colors. The painter showed this person what he was doing. The person left without talking with me personally.The entrance is cluttered with signs that say 'We love our community' and other gaudy signs that market Spanish Lakes Communities. I don't know one person that has told me that they love the community.Shortly after I moved in I discovered some serious problems with the home. The roots from the 2 leafy trees are destroying the under-carriage of the home. I've had to replace the plumbing system and possibly the flooring of the home because 2 spots in the home have caved in already costing me $800 to fix. I getting estimates to see if it's worth fixing. Most probably the home is now worthless and I may have to evacuate it if the roots continue to damage the home. In addition, my roof is being damage because Spanish Lakes refuses to prune the trees.Curiously enough when I first moved in I was told that the property itself was their responsibility to maintain and I had to maintain just the surrounding shrubbery and small plants. When I made Spanish Lakes aware of these issues I was told that the trees on the property were the responsibility of the mobile home owner. Yet the problems have been going on way before I moved in about a year ago. The management is obviously only concerned with the profits from the rents rather than the upkeep of the property. I offered to remove the trees and they refused knowing that if I have to move out because of deterioration of the home, they'll just replace it rather than taking on the responsibility of maintaining the property.

Do not buy or rent here. They take advantage of people. And are outrageous in demands even when you own. My mother haa 2 large breed dogs and LIVES IN THE PET SECTION. She recently recieved a notice saying she isnt allowed to walk her dogs to the permitted dog park area at the end of her street. Literally less than a quarter mile. She now is supposed to load the dogs into the car and drive them to the dog park. Needless to say shes going to sell and get out of this terribly run and ridiculous place. I hope this deters a few folks from being taken advantage of and being treated poorly by these people. The neighbors are great and if it wasn't so poorly run it could be a wonderful community but that will not happen with the current owners.

I've lived in this community for almost 2 years and I have been harassed by the Park Manager from day one! This place is not friendly to people who are in their 50's (even though it's a 55+ community) and unless you are an invalid or have no possessions you will be treated as an outcast. The amenities everyone talks about are outdated and suck. I never use them and never will! If I could move from here I'd leave tomorrow but unfortunately no one wants to move here so my place isn't selling.
