It's a shame, if someone bought this place and put a little money into it it could be a premier course. As it is it's just potential. Most fairways were ok, but some were as long as the rough, greens are so slow and long you have to hammer every putt, proshop and restaurant were not open on a Saturday morning. No signs at tee boxes, no markers , and some had weeds throughout. Every bunker was in aweful shape, weeds and hard pack mud. I won't be playing here again, but it was cheap if you are just looking to hack some balls around with some buddies, no staff to bug you, I imagine you could party pretty hard out there and have a great buddy golf day, but for the serious player skip this one.

I was meeting a friend who drove down from Escanaba Michigan as I drove up from Rockford Illinois. We looked at reviews and tried to find a course which had good reviews to meet somewhere in the middle. This golf course had mixed reviews however better than most in this area.First Id like to say being my first time here and reading the reviews it appears the new owners have made many more changes to make this a great place to golf. The range balls included in the price was very nice as well as actual bottled water on the course. There was also a beverage cart and the cart came around often and it was a pleasant surprise. Driving range was a tad beat up however it was Saturday (8/11/18) and probably not moved yet for the week. I liked the large self serve buckets for balls. Hit and many or less as you like. They have two practice greens ... well done.I play to a 3 handicap and my friend played to a 10. We both thought the course had a great design. Off the tee the course was extremely fair and the rough was not so tall you couldnt find the ball. Sand traps and green side bunkers were in great shape even though they were wet from a recent rain or watering. The rough around the greens was thick and penalized for a poor approach shot. Fairways and greens were in great shape and the ball rolled well. With all that being said ... we really really tried to like this course. What stands apart and makes this an unenjoyable round are the greens themselves. They are very ridiculessly undulated and a great shot to the green is not rewarded. Across the road is a par 5 3 5 combo. As we were going down the first par 5 we met with guys in our fairway heading back down the other par 5. We both were waiting (pace of play was very good) for the group in front so we made small talk telling them this was our first visit etc. and asked about the weird greens. Every one in the group said wait till you see the green we were heading too. Needles to say real close 15/18 greens were sadly undulated. With this being said at least they were ok rolling and the greens were not fast. Ive stated in many reviews if youre going to have undulating greens they cannot be fast and they did well mixing the speed with the undulation. Also on this par five par three par five combination theyre building an island green. I think before you start building additional greens you should flatten out the ones you have. The course was very fun from tee to green its just too bad the greens make it a one time visit.

Played there last weekend. This course has ZERO ball washers on it. I've played hundreds of golf courses and even the cheapest, municipal, goat tracks have ball washers. I played Royal St Patrick's the next day and washed my ball on every tee even if it didn't need it because it felt like a luxury; it's not a luxury, it's a basic standard. Also, their carts are among the worst in the area whereas RSP's are the best. Both courses have great layouts, but RSP is in much better condition, has a nicer clubhouse, better food, better service, a nicer pro shop, better carts, better cart paths, ball washers, a free 19th hole and is only $3 more to play. No brainer...
