Mill Quarter is a course that is friendly to the high handicapper, but still offers a challenge to the low handicapper. Each round always seems to offer something new. Well maintained. Friendly staff.

I really like this course. It is great for those that don't want to be pushed through the day of play. Staff is always friendly and prices are not gonna kill the wallet. Also a great place to see all kinds it's wildlife not just houses like at some courses.

Much improved since my last visit. Greens in great shape, bit slow but very nice Fairways were in good shape. Only minor complaint was the tee boxes, need some work. Traps were in good shape and pretty consistent. I'll be going back.

Nice course. Friendly staff. Will play again . They need better drainage on a few holes. But with the rain we have had not too much more you could do.

Very nice course and accommodating staff. Head pro was even willing to make food for our group after a round on a rainy day when the kitchen staff had left early. Will definitely be back again. Thanks.

Staff nice. Course in okay shape but needs work. Decent options at turn and for 19th hole. Plenty of parking. A little out of the way for me. Went with group outing. Need more porta potty and water cooler on course.

We started off thinking it was going to be a good day. After my friend drove his first ball in the bunker the starter came over and said he had a complaint for walking though the bunker that was packed hard and muddy. Then we reached the green which was totally impossible to putt on. The greens were so slow they were impossible to putt on. After 9 holes the gentleman in the pro shop told us this is way they will be for the rest of the season. I highly recommend not to play this course at this time.

Good course, but the rain overnight caused water standing in some sand traps.

A Friend of mine and myself played Mill Quarter the 1st time about 10 months ago and just recently remembered I forgot to leave my personal review so o thought I would do so now .Well Let me tell you Something, DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR. As a Very Good Golfer 3 things I always look for in a Course are these (1) A Challenging Layout (2) Impressive Employees and (3) Rate that is Fair to the Course.Well , I had heard it was a Goat Track, Employees Were rude and they should PAY YOU to play there . I have 1 Question WHAT FRIGGIN COURSE WERE THEY AT ?.When I walked into the Club House I was Treated Like one of the Guys, The Gentleman behind the Counter treated me like He had known me for the Last 30 years , That Absolutely Blew me away . I Had a Friend With Me and He was Bugeyed as well.Well once they found out We were first timers I had no idea that it was possible to be Nicer but I be Damned if they weren't, Telling us where water could be gotten, Hidden trouble, To take our time and Relax and Enjoy...WOW .Then they Layout, One of the Few courses I have been at that I don't care if you are a +5 or 30 handicap they have a Tee Box for you and a Skill to match your own. The Gentlemen Cutting Grass or working Wouldn't just stop cutting, No, They in Most Cases Turned the Machines OFF, You Thought you had gone Deaf, You actually Had a QUITE RELAXING Round of Golf.I Had a Tee Time Golf Pass which is Good in 5 States which saves me a Ton of Money, But I was playing during the Weekday and even if I hadn't the Rates were SoReasonably affordable it was almost Stealing .I can't Say what it was Like in the past but I can assure it wasn't a one time thing as we have come back on Several occasions and we are Happy to report that We got the same treatment and we are nobody special and not inspectors sent in to critique golf courses without them knowing it .Do yourself a Favor and play for the first time, And if you had problems in the past You owe it to yourself to give them another Chance.

Greens are good and well cared for. Fairways are poor. Fried out and hard despite the recent rainfalls.

A very good time. Played with 2 very cool dudes. We almost smoked them but come to find out these dudes play in the course championship and play there often. I call for a rematch.....

Overall the course was in good shape. Greens were on great shape, though a little slow rolling. Tee boxes were in poor shape and could use more attention as well as the range. Overall a good challenge and will go again soon.

It was a very nice course but.. the grass just needs a little more sun and heat before it's green, and the greens were also not very good, they also would need some heat and sun. Definitely would come back later in the year when it's warmer.

Course is in good shape. Plenty of decent rates available. Beware the back 9... no restroom facilities except the clubhouse and too many houses to run behind a bush. Too long even for gold tees

Oh Mill Quarter! My, my, you've outdone yourselves this time. Dead tee boxes, diseased greens and shaft bending dirt and water filled bunkers werent enough. Now, for our golfing pleasure, you've added a logging camp, which Im sure has endeared you to local residents. Nice touch! What next, a clowns mouth on the eighteenth green and a free game. While never a golfers paradise, at least you had attractive scenery but, now that's gone too. I always wondered what the earth would look like after a nuclear holocaust and now you've answered that question on hole 14. Perhaps you should change the name of the course to Timber Mill instead of Mill Quarter. The verdict is in- this place sucks! Congratulations on doing the impossible - making Windy Hill look like Augusta National. Heres a thought- hold a tournament for the loggers union and they can bring their chain saws and drop a tree or two while waiting to tee off.

First it started with a warm welcome from the people inside. The Gentleman behind the Counter couldn't have been nicer, This also extended to the lady at the snack bar when we made our turn after 9.I have read some comments that were not very nice and I had not been to MQ in almost 20 years since I live in Ashland.I have been to MQ 2 times in the past 3 weeks and all I can say is that the people that wrote those comments had to have fallen in to 1 of 2 categories.1) People that were at another Golf Course.Or 2) People that for some reason that have not told the whole truth if they told the truth at all.I will have NO problem making the trip out there again. The Practice facility, The Greens and the employees are all 1st rate.

The greens are in great shape. Keep the ball on the fairways; bit of debris from the storm on the edges. Sand traps in poor condition. Great place to hone your golfing skills.

Joe is right on. This place was never very good to begin with. I remember playing there a few years back and the greens were so unkempt that it was like putting on a beach. But this time around the course has been converted into something resembling The Somme. This combined with 5+ hour games due to slow play makes you wonder why you didn't just spend your day at Putt Putt Golf.

Wow I am very impressed with this golf course. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is the best public public course in central VA. This is the best driving range/ new balls.

This golf course is a pure wreck.. theyve sold acres all over the course for lumber and also to developers to build homes. It looks like a tornado came through and leveled 100s of trees but they just left the stumps and debris. It USED to be such a nice course but now its seriously one of the worse and ugliest courses to play. Save your money and go to Windy Hill or anywhere else. Don't waste your gas to go here, its a disappointment.

Wow... every course in Richmond greens are suffering. Some of the top courses have closed because their greens are gone due to the weather this year. I've seen MQ look amazing at times and I've seen it suffering at times. Like every public course in the area. I love the layout and the staff is amazing. The 'Timber' is to open the course up to more sun and wind, and for area development. You need that to survive in a dying golf market. With that comes inconvenience. Love the layout and the reasonable cost to play. Keep working on the course MQ, good days are around the corner.

Nasty management. Came running after us on the golf course cause my husband and son were sharing clubs. Told us we had to rent a set of clubs to speed up play. And we are playing behind a couple five somes which kept us waiting at every hole!!! Yes they do allow five somes!!! Terrible experience the views along the course are bull dozed trees. Find some place else!!!

I played there over 20 years ago and returned with my old friends only to find the place had not been upgraded, they may have placed different tables in dining area. The greens were in HORRIBLE CONDITION, on some greens the ball jumped when you putted. The course seemed uncared for and unkept.
