Everything about this course is great! They have put a lot into course maintenance, and continue to make improvements. The fairways and greens are the best conditioned I've seen in the area. The bunkers are well maintained and easily accessible! The staff in the pro shop and the on the course were friendly and knowledgeable. I play golf all around the area (Lynchburg, Roanoke, Charlottesville) and this is by far the best public course!

PG is a contender for the best course in the state. Great layout/track, beautiful scenery, great greens. I have played this course 25+ times and am rarely disappointed. I wish the cost was slightly lower but the new owners/managers have invested heavily in improvements (most notably the bunkers) and have earned the right to increase the fees. Bridges, bulkheads, cart paths, landscaping, carts and clubhouse have all been significantly improved. Pace of play is nearly always at a private CC pace. Lastly, the staff has been absolutely fantastic. Super friendly and professional. Poplar Grove is a wonderful golf course and is improving daily!
