I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could. It's a public course, and it's a muni. There's nothing wrong with that. Players need to know what they're paying for.For a municipal course, it's in good shape. Very playable, but challenging in it's own way.Other than some places on some greens, I was surprised how good the turf was. Fairways were mostly good, too. Biggest disappointment was with the tee boxes. It would be good if they'd level out some of the boxes, or avoid placing the tees in the uneven areas.Pace of play was good, especially for a weekend. Finished the 2-person round in under 3-hrs.If you're within an hour and just want to get the sticks out and play, it's not a bad choice.

Decent golf course for Gainesville but dont bother trying to get a few holes in after work during the summer. I get closing at 6 but not during the summer when the sun sets at 9
