I gave it one star because I can't give it less. Golfing for 48 years and they have the worse greens I have ever seen. One green was 1/3 sand. I got a special for $18 and it was a waste of my money. Regular price is listed as $45. 5/29/20

My fianc and I had an amazing dinner at Purple Martin Grille & Cellar at the Timberlake Country Club. We started with the scallops and loved every bite. The flavor was amazing and the scallops were cooked to perfection. We decided to share the ribeye with asparagus and deep fried potato cakes. The picture says it all! The steak was a perfect medium rare and the asparagus with crisp but tender. The fried potato cakes had a delectable crunch and a rich texture that melted in your mouth. The Demi glaze sauce paired perfectly as it was delicate but extremely flavorful and enhanced every bite of the steak. Overall an absolutely incredible and Tasty experience with superb service all around. We will definitely be coming back!!!

One of the nicest courses I've played. Certainly the 'best value' I've seen/played. This course ranks in my top 3, with two other courses (The Keswick in VA, and La Paloma in Tucson) that were $100+ per round. The course was in great shape, greens were fast and true, lay out has character, and the holes with lake views are some of the prettiest holes I've played. Staff was great, facilities/equipment were clean (sorry for tracking in a bit of mud right as floors were being mopped) and well maintained. Overall experience: A+. Now one of my 'must play' courses when I visit Lake Murray.

Great golf course here. The range is spectacular with views of the lake to your left. The price to play is also very affordable. We played in a foursome and flew around the golf course. Friendly staff in the pro shop.

Timberline offer many activities. Golf, swimming pool, restaurant and excercice room. Best, by far, it's on Lake Murray.

The manager, Jimmy, is overbearing and harasses employees. Has no earthly idea what it takes to run a golf course. Needs new irrigation system. Ive worked on courses before, high end, and if Timberlake wants to be amongst those they have a lot of changing to do. They now have no Super thanks to management! Good luck patching those leaks!

Greens still not grown back and fairways are all chewed up. Exposed pipes and sprinklers coming out of holes in the fairway. Worst shape I have ever seen this course. Charwood is in better shape right now!

The Country Club is one of the main reasons I moved to Timberlake. And I have not been disappointed. The casual atmosphere, the revamped restaurant, the friendly people and top notch service makes this place a Five Star hangout. I highly recommend visit it and enjoy all the amenities. If I could only have more time, I'd spend it all there.

Course was in very bad shape - greens were not manicured, crab grass all over the course even next to the greens, sand traps were horrible, tee boxes were trashed, etc... Timberlake used to be on my 4 course rotation, but I will not pay to play there again until conditions improve. Very disappointed on how far the course has gone down hill in a matter of months!

The course is somewhat difficult. The greens are pretty good. I would play here every day but it is far from me. The fairway are somewhat narrow and in great condition.
