The course is open to the public. The front nine, is somewhat open, but being a mountain course, slants one way or another, and forces you to really think about each shot as well as your next one.The back nine has been updated, and is challenging to play. It requires more control on some tight fairways, and a few dangerously tempting shortcuts, if you can make it. The little pub is fun to hang out in after a round, and has a full bar and a decent variety of food to choose from. The formal dining area up top is available as part of a membership, as is the full size pool. There is a common park area, and tennis courts. Houses provide nice views overlooking the golf course, Arden or the Blue Ridge mountains, depend on where they sit. This is a gated, but cozy and very relaxed community. I do like this community so much that I bought a place here. The houses on the back side of the mountain face the Blue Ridge Parkway, and tend to be larger lots (mine is just over an acre).Deer, wild turkeys, and an occasional bear, all roam through the community. It is quite peaceful. In addition to the houses, there are townhomes as well. Plenty of lots available to build if you want. Very low HOA does.

First time playing. Its a very good layout with a lot of doglegs. A lot of elevation changes. They need to better the tee conditions. Tim in the pro shop was great. Cant beat the $29.00 green fee.Dont be deterred by the guard shack. Tell them you have a tee time. Its a Public Welcomed course

I've never golfed at haya Vista probably never will. I just drove by it on my way to a rich man's house to make a little money so I could buy my bread.
