Heron Glen is a county own golf course. To call it a 'Muni' would be a disservice. This is a well maintained, upscale golf facility. The pandemic has taken its toll on many businesses including golf courses. They are able to only get half the play they'd usually get due to 16 minute intervals between groups. The benefit is that the course is in pretty good shape and we played in less than 3.5 hours. The only minus I can give are their bunkers. They are very inconsistent with a few with proper sand and most with just a veneer of sand. Over all a good experience and a good challenge. Staff was minimal with minor interaction but friendly enough.

This is one of the finest public courses out there. The course is meticulously cared for and the staff at this place is fantastic. They make a serious effort to know you by name and make you feel like you're at a private club. And the new clubhouse is beautiful and the food is amazing! The picture is from their latest superintendents revenge event. So much fun!

Very neat and accessible restaurant. They provide big portions and for reasonable prices. I liked the food a lot and the staff were super welcoming and informative. I recommend this place.

I dine in this restaurant quite often! This is my favorite restaurant to eat. I go there many times. The cooking is of high quality, the staff is helpful and the prices are reasonable. I enjoy going in this spot to have a decent lunch.

Nice atmosphere sitting area in front of fire place., golf course view all around. Nice bar. Good food. Definitely plan to go back. Closed for Winter. Opens in March.

Beautiful course - very nice for being public. Greens and fairways were very nice l. Very challenging for fist time playing. The starter gave us map booklet showing yardage and where hidden bunkers, ravines, etc were.

What a gem of a place. Fantastic course in great condition. Great to see a ranger going around keeping the pace of play up. Busy busy when last played but got around in 4 hours. Nice food in clubhouse and good staff in bar also. Very welcoming.

Only played this course on 2 occasions, once in a 30 mph wind and the other last week in no wind. Wind is this course defense IMHO. Never the less this is one cracking course to play at, friendly staff, great practice area and from tee to green the course is immaculate. I will be back and if you play on the NYC public course venture an hour away and you could be playing this fine course, well worth a trip.

Heron Glen gets a solid 4 stars from me! Played an early Sunday round here with a foursome. The pro shop was a little backed up upon going to pay greens fee. 8 people standing in line and one guy working the register. The range was in decent shape. A couple stalls had burnt out grass. The putting green is immaculate. Great spot to warm up. The starter was a nice guy. The course played great and the fairways and greens were tremendous! Best kept public course within 30 miles. Pace was awesome. No pesky Ranger. Finished in about 4 hours. Then enjoyed some tasty bloody Mary's and food at the new Clubhouse. Love coming here. Of course the only downer is $81 for a peak weekend round. I usually play here 1-2 times a year so I don't go broke.

Top 3 public course in Nj. Course maintenance, same company that does Hamilton Farm. New club house being built and new sand in bunkers. Course is always in A+ shape when I play. Only thing that's annoying it sometimes gets backed up 5+ hr rounds*Jul 2018*Clubhouse is dope! I've been dying to try the new menu just haven't had the time. FYI COURSE IS IN GREAT SHAPE LIKE ALWAYS!

Went there for Easter Brunch Buffet which was very nice. The food was good and fresh, our waitress and wait staff were professional/hospitable, and the whole area and view were amazing!Would definitely recommend to all family and friends!!!

The food here is amazing. If you are expecting normal golf course fare you are greatly mistaken. The filet mignon is worthy of any expensive steakhouse. Highly recommended.

Heron Glen is a wide, beautiful course with great terrain and lots of good play. For a public course, this is tops.Ample driving range facilities with mats and off the grass in-season. A practice green is also available as well as a bunker on the driving range which is great for practicing those sand hits without worrying about skulling someone!Finally, a friendly staff makes this one of my favorite places to play and practice.

The staff was nice but lacking experience in table service basics. Simple acts you take for granted like refilling more than one beverage at a time or creamer and sweetener with coffee we're lacking. I expect the improvement and growth will be carried by the food which made it a reasonable brunch it a bit pricey everything considered.

Just played yesterday for the first time since this course opened 15 years ago. I played this course when it opened up a handful of times and thought that it was going to be a great course but I am very disappointed in the condition it was in. Very surprised to see that the course is dried out especially with the amount of rain we have had this season, brown patches all over the fairways and can someone please tell me why O why do they aerate the greens in the middle of the season. So they aerated the greens about a month ago and there still is dimples throughout all the greens so you cant get a true roll. And for the price that you pay your expecting better, I mean you can go down the road 15-20min to Neshanic and pay less then $10 more and get a 10 times better course not to mention 36 holes instead of 18. It just seems that they are charging premium prices so they can cover the cost of their new clubhouse and they are not putting any money back into the course itself. Maybe another 10-15 years it will be better but definitely not worth it.

The Real Correct Club Fitting. With a pro, on turf/grass, with a monitor. Not in a cage off a mat. Not every club from every brand but all the major brands. But maybe that's me. Dare to compare.

We switched golf courses for our family outing that we have been having for more than 20 years. We had some anxiety about it but the staff made all that go away. Everybody was super friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. The chefs cooking on the grill, the bartender and staff that helped with food and drinks were all great!! Special shout out to Sean who helped with posting scores and started the day off. And as far as the golf course it was in awesome shape. We will see you next year for sure
