Beautiful golf course in excellent shape. It is a challenging course that I would not recommend for beginners without at least 2 dozen balls.

It's a beautiful course and in great shape. The greens were well kept, rolled true, and the pace/speed of putts were very fair, not to fast. That being said, the course is very difficult for the average golfer. It is long, a lot of fairway and greenside bunkers (although they're very well kept), the rough was very long/thick, plus you have to hit over a lot of marsh or junk going into the greens and the greens are well protected. Also, their are some blind shots as well as a lot of native grass just off the edge of the fairways. Very minimal water to deal with but it comes into play a couple of times in the round. You better be a real good driver of the golf ball and be in the fairway. If you get just off the fairway you're in trouble. Pace of play was good for a mid afternoon round. Again, a beautiful course but very difficult and challenging. All courses have 1 or maybe 2 things that make them challenging, this course has 5 or 6. Personally, I wouldn't 'choose' to play their again but if asked as part of a group I would go. I'm no Tiger Woods but I'm not Al Chervik either. I just think if you're a 15+ or higher handicapper you'll be happier elsewhere. Just my honest opinion. I would recommend putting in a hybrid tee option and lowering the first cut of rough. You smash a drive that falls 6 inches off the fairway and your ball is buried. There were times were we knew exactly where our ball landed and we couldn't find it. Bad enough that you have long thick rough but when you have native grass on top of it, 100's of bunkers, water, and you have to hit over marsh, etc. with heavily protected greens it becomes a little too much.
