Nice course along with great views

This golf course is a beauty. It rained lightly for the first 8 or 9 holes we played so there wasn't a lot of roll on our shots. The golf course was in very good shape despite being fairly wet and was fun to play. The halfway house built into the side of a hill was pretty neat. After our round with the sun shining we sat on the outdoor patio and had a couple of drinks. The views were spectacular. We played the course as part of of a package we bought when staying at Gull Lake View villas. We had to do a lot of complaining due to multiple screw ups with our reservation so we did not have to pay the $55 surcharge to play. As nice as the course was and as much fun as it was I am glad we did not have to pay the surcharge, in my opinion it was not worth it although I am glad that I played it.

Golf course was nice and proved a good test of skills. Generous fairways and extreme rough if you were really off line. Bunkers were groomed well and full of quality sand. The greens though were inconsistent and somewhat slow especially when compared to the tiny practice green (2 holes) which was flat and fast, so it did not prove to be a good indicator of what you see on the course.The biggest complaint of my experience is the quality of customer service. The staff in the pro shop seemed more interested in what was on TV, taking our money and not really engaging in any conversation or offering any direction or course info. It had rained before we got there so all of the carts were wet and we had to search for staff and ask a couple of times for a towel to wipe the seats down ourselves. Additionally, our group made the turn right around noon being in the middle of marginally packed course on a holiday weekend and they were ill prepared with only 2 hot dogs left which weren't all that good anyway.Classified as a 'resort' this course wants to charge a premium for greens fees and food/beverages but it has some work to do to live up to the hype.
