So much history here - highly recommend taking a day out and checking out everything this place has to offer. Great insight into a forgotten way of life in Central Louisiana.

Great place to learn about forestry and forest history. Train ride through the woods is cool too.

I came here on a whim a few months ago. It was very small, but also a lot larger then I expected. The museum hosts a few buildings, but the old general store is where a lot of the display items are. The man who was at the front desk was very polite. They have a room in the back of the general store that is ten dollars to see, and there is also a special tour around the area for a few dollars, but he gave me a free tour of the basic museum. It is full of history! All kind antique items, most of them related to the logging industry that exploded in the South between the 1870's and 1930's. The man there really knows a lot about that period. I was only there for 25 minutes, but it was well worth it.
