I would call myself an intermediate player and I absolutely love this course. Just the right amount of difficulty. What really makes this course great though is the staff. You can tell they really love this course and enjoy working there. I would highly suggest making a visit.

Fantastic price ($22 for 18 holes) on a weekday. Regular yard grass (it appeared) in the fairways. Greens were manicured but cut long, making them slow. Lots of undulations in the greens but the slow roll made them puttable. Way too many trees on this course. 2/3 along the fairways need to be removed. Missing a fairway, even slightly, was too much of a penalty because of the trees. Traps needed a lot more sand. Gold tee placement was almost identical to the red tees, making then irrelevant. Should move the golds back 10 yards or more on the longer holes. I guess it's priced about right.

Really enjoyed my visit to Morning Star. Very well kept up. Went to use the driving range and ended up purching green fee for a year.

First time playing so not a expert on courses . Went during the day so it was not busy. Had plenty of time and was not rushed . Other golfers were not pushy. Clubhouse was clean and had plenty of refreshments

Pretty well maintained course. Only played 9 holes, but felt I got value for the price. Uncrowded on a Friday morning. Plays very easy.

Beware!!!!This Is the worst course Ive played in the Indy area. The person in the club house was super nice that is the only good thing I have to say about this place. The greens were like putting in fairways, very slow. My was dirty with mud and food wrappers from the last group. The rough was overwhelmed with weeds and over grown. Fairways were like the first cut of rough. This course is a great place if you have kids or just learning. Serious players will not enjoy playing here and should stay away.

There are certain members that will make you feel unwelcome. Insulting and disrespectful and act like the course is theirs. On the other hand other members, and patrons will make you feel at home and welcome. Hopefully you dont run into me of the bad seeds.

Steve is one of best there is. He is honest, fair, and treats his customers well. If Morningstar is open I will not play anywhere else. He treats you like a friend..not just ANOTHER customer.Love this place.

I was there for driving range. In order to get to the range you had to drive a cart around to another area. The path to the range was filled with trees that needed to be trimmed. Some of the branches would slap me in the face as I had to drive though them to get to the range. They really need to get those trees trimmed. Once I got to the range no problem.

Nice course. Fairly open fairways. Judging distances from fairways to greens is at times difficult due to small greens (illusion). Going from hole to hole could be marked better. Hole markers at some of the teeboxes are badly obscured by vegetation. First time back after several years. The course is much nicer than I remember. Prices are as good as ever and annual green fees are probably the best in town.

Can't say enough about this place and the gentlemen running it. Our daughter has attended numerous camps here and she loves it everytime. The coaches are great with children/youth and they are instilling a passion for golf to our future generations. She's now receiving lessons from a PGA Professional here at Morningstar, playing for her school team, and competing in competitive play with the Indiana Junior Golf association. We love this place for our children as well as for our personal play! Their pricing is great, for play and for club orders/fittings, lessons, etc. They recently got an indoor simulator as well, but we haven't had a chance to play on it yet.In terms of the grounds: We've been here a couple of years now and I've seen the staff working tirelessly to enhance the greens. The improvement is noticeable, including trimmed-up trees, etc. Cart paths are still older but the Golf Carts are brand spanking new! They ordered new ones last fall :)I frequently recommend Morningstar to anyone that asks where we golf. They've become like an extension to our family!

I had a match here today and the fairways are like hitting in a backyard, and every hole is completely straight with a terrible layout and not in the best spot of Indiana

It's good for the price. Not greatly maintained, few ball washers, no place to clean clubs. But it is a cool course with semi challenging greens, water hazards, and sand traps which is cool for the price.

The best value in Indianapolis, basically a steal for a family. Where else can you go where your children play for free if you buy the very affordable single membership. My boys both 8 and 10 love playing and Steve has really helped them with their game with his lessons, golf camps and has even loaned them clubs for long-term use. The owner Steve really works hard to support the local community and the kids in the community (especially Warren Schools), you can tell he really cares. If you are a family man who wants to see your kids love golf, this is the place to go. Where else can I pay $9.00 (cart rental) for me and my boys to play nine holes, it is the cheapest time out with my children and a skill which will stay with them for a lifetime. In terms of the course quality, Morningstar is not an Augusta S.C or the Brickyard Crossing, however for the East side of Indianapolis its a good course to play and a great value, no rolling hills (like Indianapolis) but plenty of ponds, creeks and beautiful treesI would advise calling ahead, especially if you are not a member, but the staff do a great job on trying to work you into the schedule.

Terrible greens. They are small impossible to hold and ridiculous pin placement. Tje tee boxes were high 'grass' mostly weeds. If you like to hit drive wedge most holes then play here. I guess it would be good for kids.

I had a great round at Morningstar! For the green fees charged it was in very good condition - even though we had a hot dry summer. The course does not have homes along every hole so it feels like you are in a park like setting, AND it is easy to walk. I was treated very well by the staff and felt welcome. The course had some interesting holes, and definite challenges, and was fun. A great round for the money and I will be back. Someone told me the PGA pro here is also a golf coach and gives a lot of lessons, so he may be the one for lessons in the area.

There is nothing to like about this course, the greens fee was cheap bit the cart fee was astronomical, the tee boxes had been cut with a push mower, and the fairways were tye length of my backyard Not to mention they were less than 15 yards wide. The rough was long and sparse and coved in little white flowers making it near impossible to find the ball. The bunkers if thats what you want to call them had nearly no sand in them and were like hitting of straight dirt, and finally the greens were incredibly slow and spongy, my group only made one putt outside 10 ft, and 2 of us play currently play college golf. If you want to waste 27$ and 4 hours of your time this is the course for you. Otherwise DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE!
