Attended high school girls invitational event here yesterday. Due to advice from other participants in past I called to check status of spectator carts a day before event. At 9:30 in the morning the pro shop did not answer and was told by answering service that carts were first come first serve basis which was fine. I said I was traveling quite a distance so I may bring own cart and was told that might be a good idea. Right as tournament was about to begin while 100 or more people were around I was yelled at very rudely by the head pro after announcements. I was admonished for having own cart and ask where I got that cart. This was from a distance. He continued to yell asking if I had paid rolling fees and then told to put it away and must use their carts. I am a 50 year old man that is a member at a country club and understand golf courses and was treated like a 12 year old that was running a cart across the practice green. This was also in front of daughter playing in tournament and was not a good way for her to start her day. I put cart away and rented one of theirs and went to discuss what had happened with the pro and was going to be polite but let him know that I called to ask and there was no answer in pro shop and operator did not say anything about outsider carts. The assistant pro stepped In while head pro was talking to a lady and told me no worries. It was not worth my time and blood pressure to sit and wait. I was extremely impressed with the course and had already told the pro from my course and a couple of friends we should play it just from the website. But that will definitely not happen now after the treatment received. I completely understand the rule of no outside carts but there is a manner of talking to people that I would expect a professional that deals with guests to have.
