Over priced for what it is, fairways not in good shape.

I golf 3-5 times per week so I've seen a lot of golf courses this year. I don't know why, but there are hundreds of dead grass spots in the fairways on this course. Yes, we had a wet spring but other courses I play are not like this at all and it is now the end of July. The grass in their roughs is so tall and thick you can easily lose a ball even when it's only a few feet off the fairway. If you find your ball, it's almost impossible to swing a club straight through the thick grass to get a good shot. If I miss the fairway by 10 yards, then ok, I deserve to pay this price...but not for missing a few feet. They have lots of bunkers but I never saw any that had fresh sand in them. That's ridiculous. Sand shots are an expected part of the game but no one can be expected to hit out of mud/dirt bunkers. The greens were in fairly good shape but it looked as if the last time they mowed, on some of the greens, they skipped a large section of the green but mowed the rest. Having a portion of the green mowed and another portion not mowed just makes putting too challenging (and even unfair). The tee boxes had ok grass but weren't regularly watered because it was difficult to get a tee in the ground on many of them. I hadn't played this course in a few years and, based on some good online reviews, I decided to give it another try. I won't be going back any time soon.

Ive played here probably 5 times since moving to Avon. Never playing here again unfortunately. When a maintenance worker(or so it appears to be) cusses me out and drops the 'F' word on me, thats when you lose my business. I didn't even finish my round. Picked up my ball and went home. Instead of making smart a** remarks, he could of easily handled the situation like an ADULT and kindly ask me to move my cart. Plus, every time I walk in that place, everyone looks at me like I shouldn't be there. Stood in the golf shop for over 20 minutes waiting for someone to help me a few rounds back. Its a shame too, since the new management has taken over, the course (well the back 9 in my opinion) is in good shape and fun to play. I'm just not a fan of playing in peoples backyards. I'd rather drive an extra 10 minutes to play Twin Bridges. Friendly people, course is so fun to play and always has a great pace. Prestwick should take some notes.
