I went into this round having just played Kapalua Plantation course which is a US top 100... I was blown away by the Makai course. Im a 2 handicap and played from the tips. At 7300 yards its definitely reasonable. The wind can remind you quickly to club up. But its rewarding on the tee shots that are downwind. Ive played some world-class golf courses including the old course in Pebble Beach. This was the most scenic course Ive ever played. The conditions were immaculate. The greens were true. I could find little to criticize. Randy stayed late to help me at the end because I played 36. He still had enthusiasm, and just when I thought Id see some sort of weakness at this place in terms of customer service, Randy proved me wrong. What an impressive facility. Green fees were $250, but only $50 for the re-round. Both included cart of course. It felt like a bargain. I put this course in the top five I have ever played. #1 for most scenic by a mile. Is this stressed out but she boxes to include a tournament tee, narrowed the fairways and sped up the greens a touch, this would be a heckuva PGA tour stop.

Course is amazing. I would never pay that much to play it again, and there are multiple Troon courses in my home state that are nicer in my opinion. It was also annoying being held up by groups taking pictures, but then told we were 4 minutes behind pace...I had a better time at Kauai Municipal for significantly less money.
