We were told about Live Oak by a friend so we decided to try it out. We booked a fishing trip and headed out. When we arrived we were blown away by the total package. From the staff to accommodations, fishing, and food this place is absolutely great. Ive fished other places for 20 years but I have found a new home. I would recommend this place to anyone from corporate events to a simple fishing trip with friends. Fishing is among the best Ive ever found anywhere.

The team at Live Oak Plantation showed my wife and I an excellent time of Turkey Hunting, beautiful accommodations and some of the best food in South Georgia. We started off with our arrival at Live Oak Plantation early Wednesday morning for Lisa's Turkey Hunt with our guide Dane Philpot. Dane was great as he put Lisa (first time turkey hunter) at ease with his great personality and knowledge of hunting of long beards in Georgia. Lisa's hunt was more than successful as she took two birds with one shot. Once the hunt was complete we returned to the Plantation Lodge for a great breakfast prepared by Dawna Albritton. With the hunt over after the first morning we had a full day and a half to explore the plantation and just relax in the Plantation Lodge not to mention enjoy more meals prepared by Dawna. We would like to say a special to Mary Westbrook for the special personal time she spends with the clients at Live Oak Plantation. Thank you ladies and gentlemen for making our stay a memory we will never forget and yes we will see you next year.

This was the most beautiful, well kept Plantation. The cabin was full of everything comfortable and fun for all. The grounds were immaculate. Breakfast at the main house was delicious and the staff was so sweet and accommodating. Thanks for a great stay, our family made amazing memories!

After evacuating to a Georgia campground for Hurricane Irma we learned that we were still in the path and expecting extremely high winds. By this time there were no rooms available anywhere. I happened upon this place on line and they called back immediately and said don't worry we have food and we'll make room - 'y'all just come on'. So 2 adults, 2 kids and a dog arrived at this magical sanctuary in the woods. We joined several other couples from all over Florida who had also evacuated. They welcomed us all like family. When the storm did hit the area, they brought in tractors/generators to make sure we were comfortable. They literally worked day and night to ensure our safety. The owner Jim, his amazing manager, Mary and all of the staff were the most caring, down to earth people you ever want to meet. They made what could have been a horrible time into an experience we will never forget. We will definitely visit again under different circumstances. The place is just incredible. Acres of trees with Spanish moss hanging down, ponds with little bridges and fences. Looks like a postcard! The lodge itself is tastefully rustic with a comfortable feel. Stone fireplaces, pine wood floors, and comfy leather couches throughout. The bedrooms are situated to ensure privacy and the porch has a wonderful view.
