Playing the course was enjoyable. Decided to play there after a suggestion from the very nice and engaging staff from nearby River Run. The counter staff at Buffalo Creek was gruff. This is the only Pope Golf course I've played at so hopefully the other Pope courses are more welcoming and offer pertinent information with ttime rates. The web site states you can phone in to request a tee time. If you phone in, be prepared to pay more than the rate on the website. We paid $30 vs. the website $20. When the higher rate was questioned, the staff lady explained how ttime bookings are done and also suggested we do the research. Unfortunately the website does not explain the rate differences for the type of ttime booking used. I'd play there again but would book on line and not expect a warm greeting from the club house staff.

Nice course, it was wet but it is a challenging course. The greens we're in good shape. It was hot and sticky but we had a good time.

The greens are in decent shape but the fairways are dried out. Also we had an 11 am tee time but they were running 20 minutes late because they put walk up golfers put there to get their money!!
