The Piper course is challenging with the undulations and green elevations. Water is in play on many of the holes. It was windy as well, but that probably will not be a factor once all of the homes, condos etc. are built. Greens were semi-fast and fairways were in decent shape. I do have to mention the cart GPS was off. Not sure if it was just my cart or if its all of them. I would be on the actual concrete cart path and the GPS would say that I need to return to the cart path. I backed up, got on the grass next to the cart path, and was able to travel. This happened several times. The cart paths need to be marked better for travel directions. The price was expensive for a late afternoon tee time (no discounted rate). All in all a great course.

Beautiful course but terrible pace of play. No on course marshal. We were following an incredibly slow foursome but attributed that because we were a Duce. At the tenth tee there was now a five some, yes 5 players, between us and the slow foursome. Another Duce came up behind us and one of the players elected to quit. Just too slow. The foursome behind us played 2 more holes and quit. We played through 13 and gave up. The five some was on 14 and the slow foursome was on the T at 15. No one else was on 15. No one on 16 or 17 and the players on 18 were walking off the green. We mentioned this when we returned the cart and were told we should have called to complain and there was no marshal in the afternoon.

Nice layout. Challenging course for all skill levels... especially the greens on the back 9. Can't wait to play it again.

Beautiful community with a bunch of fun people! No doubt, this will be one of the most sought after places to live in Lakewood Ranch.
