100% volunteer run this is the only food pantry serving the Chugiak/Eagle River area. Over 150 families are the grateful beneficiaries of this wonderful organization. For more information visit their Facebook page.Adding information to this on June 26, 2020... The Pantry is in need of tuna, tomato paste and sauce, dog food, canned green beans and canned soups. If you are able to provide any of the items listed please drop them off on Mondays or Fridays between 8:30-12:30 or on Tuesdays between 3:30 and 6:00.

I don't believe I have ever been to another food pantry, so this review is on its own, not a comparison. The volunteers there are very pleasant and never give the impression that people who need their services should be out working and supporting themselves. The food is well organized, carefully laid out, and thoughtfully presented. People are encouraged to bring their own bags or boxes for carrying out their selections. Grocery carts are present so that people may wheel their food, etc. out to their vehicles, and people always bring the carts back into the building. As an extra incentive to visit, there is a Little Free Library out front! Do stop by!
